7 Fall and Winter Organic Skin Care Tips

Fall and winter are the harshest times of the year for our skin. The skin needs extra care to keep it moisturized during this time of year. To help you keep your skin healthy and radiant through the holiday season, here are a few fall and winter organic skin care tips, to help you welcome the New Year feeling and looking good.

1. Drink Plenty of Water

Help your skin stay hydrated by consuming plenty of water. Take a bottle of water, juice or tea with you when you leave the house. Hot herbal tea can do wonders in the cold. If you constantly hydrate yourself, your skin will maintain a healthy glow even on the coldest days of winter.

2. Remove Dead Skin Cells with Regular Exfoliation

Remove dead skin cells to keep your skin feeling fresh by using a facial or body scrub. Expensive products aren’t necessary. Create an exfoliant recipe by using items you can find in your kitchen.

3. Employ Organic Moisturizers

After exfoliating, be sure to moisturize your skin. There are various organic skin moisturizers that are made from natural ingredients. These contain none of the harsh chemical preservatives that might do more harm than good to your skin.

4. Don’t Forget to Wear Sunscreen

You need to apply sunscreen when you’re going outdoors even if it’s not in the heat of summer. You need a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 15. Sunscreens containing organic ingredients are on the market. Additionally, some sunscreens also contain moisturizing agents. Good sunscreens are able to protect your skin from the elements.

6. Wear Gloves When You’re Out and About

When she insisted you wear gloves in the winter, your mom knew what she was talking about. Don’t leave home in the cold without a pair of gloves. Choose gloves that are made of hemp or other organic material. In addition to protecting your skin from harsh elements, gloves also keep your hands warm and dry.

6. Use an Organic Oil Bath

In addition to relaxing you, an organic oil bath can also hydrate your skin. Use a lavender bath oil to relax your body, calm your senses, and nourish your skin simultaneously. To wash away the stress of a tiring day at the office or shopping at the mall, simply add a few drops of the oil to your bath.

7. Use Organic Lip Balm to Protect Your Lips

Lips chap easily in the fall and winter. This is because both the use of indoor heaters and the cold elements themselves can cause lips to chap. Help stave off chapping by using an organic lip balm.. Make sure the balm is there when you need it by stowing one away in your pocket or purse. Sometimes you can’t predict when you will need it. Anyone who has suffered from chapped lips can tell you that lip balm is something one should never be without!
